THEME: China Emerging Art Giant

ENTRANT'S REQUIREMENTS

  • All Hong Kong SAR and Macau residents.
  • Entrants are welcome to enter the Competition on individual or group basis of no more than 3 people.
  • Should entrants wish to form a group in entering the Competition, each member of the group should submit separate entry form.
  • Entrants may submit ONE entry only.
  • Entry forms can be downloaded here or at PCF's office, 19/F Paramount Building, 12 Ka Yip Street, Chai Wan, Hong Kong.

THE ENTRY
Each entry should meet the following requirements:

Format : Free form
Art Piece Size : Not exceeding 180cm x 180cm x 20cm (including framing and mounting)
Weight : Not exceeding 30kg (including framing and accessories)
Material : Any material of durable, non-perishable, and transportable qualities. No living creatures, plants or seeds. No external power source required.

Entries must be original that have not entered any competitions, or shown in any public/private exhibitions. This includes any school/college exhibitions.

PCF reserves the final and ultimate right to expel any entry at any time that do not comply with the conditions of entry, or for any reason at any stage of the competition the Foundation regards the entry unfit.

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
Preliminary selection

  • For initial judging, entrants are only required to submit the followings in good quality digital format:

    a. Entrant's profile in both Chinese and English.
    b. Description statement of artistic work concept in both Chinese and English
    c. Photos of art piece from all angles in jpeg/pdf format.
    d. Diagrams showing clear layout and method of presentation of the entry (size and proportion of the work should be indicated)

  • All required material should be saved in a CD sub-divided into folders of information, namely "Profile", "Artist's Statement", "Diagrams" and "Photos".
  • For the digital image, it is advised that the optimum file resolutions should be 1024x768; the upper limit of each file should not exceed 1 megabyte.
    * Entrants must submit the above items together with the completed entry form to the following email address: artcomp@pcf.org.hk or send to: 19/F Paramount Building, 12 Ka Yip Street, Chai Wan, Hong Kong. A confirmation of receipt will be given.
    * All entries must be sent on or before 28 december 2006 (postmark for mail-in entry). Late submission will not be entertained.
    * No submitted materials, such as entrant's profile or photos, will be returned.
    * Entry forms can be downloaded from the PCF website: http://www.pcf.org.hk or at PCF's office.

Final selection

  • Semi-finalists among entrants will be selected at the preliminary selection. They will be notified by email or post and the selected works must be delivered, at specific time and venue, at the expense of artists. Further details of submission will be notified.
  • PCF reserves the rights to decline any entries, which are not qualified for final selection. Any semi-finalists fail to submit and set up their works in the specified period meant to withdraw from the competition.
  • Entrants should provide their own equipment and accessories to facilitate judging and display at all times, including computer, software, hardware, internal power supply and audio-visual aids for presentation.
  • Entrants should provide a durable container/packaging for packing of art pieces.
  • Entrants are responsible for the installation of their art works during all exhibitions.
