Interview with Mr. Kan Tai-keung

Formula for an outstanding art piece :
Personal Involvement + Creativity + Technique

Macau has rich cultural environment bringing more potential artists

Free topic encourages more quality art pieces

Last but not the least, Mr. Kan has given some invaluable comments to the Foundation. He suggests retaining the painting and sculpture categories. If the Foundation plans to introduce new categories such as multi-media and installation in the forthcoming competition, it has then to take technical support and resources into consideration.
In terms of the theme, he suggests offering freedom of topics to the entrants. When not limited by the themes, the entrants are free to be more creative and can submit their best art pieces.
As for adjudicating mechanism, he agrees with this year's format Ñ preliminary and second round of judging and a discussion amongst adjudicating panel in order to reach a consensus and bring a fair and reputable result.
Mr. Kan has also given an affirmative comment on the Foundation. He comments the Foundation has successfully organized the competition which has explored many potential artists and been recognized by the art community. This also reflects the work and effort of the Foundation is being appreciated.
