Philippe Charriol Foundation Launches its First Biennial Art Competition Celebrates its 20 Years of Support to Art Development
PCF (Philippe Charriol Foundation) today called for entries for its 2006 Art Competition. At the press conference, Mr. Mervyn Tam, PCF Senior Executive Manager and a newly formed PCF advisory panel, together with MC, TV Actor Mr. Sammul Chan shared their joy and anticipation towards the 20th anniversary Art Competition.
The 2006 Art Competition marks the 20th anniversary of the event. Gathering its previous experience in organizing annual art competition, also opinion among the advisory panel, the PCF launches its first biennial art competition, hoping to give sufficient time for budding artists in preparation of their art pieces and attract more creative art work.
The PCF is proud to have the Founder Mr. Philippe Charriol to set the theme for the year's competition and have the 2005 winner Ms. Tsang Chui Mei to unveil to the press ¡V ¡§China Emerging Art Giant¡¨.Unlike the rules in previous years, this year's competition will have no fixed form for art entries to allow free roam of creativity. Participants can submit works of painting, computer graphics, installation, or even a combination of different forms. However, limitations in size and medium are to be observed.
At the press conference, the newly formed PCF advisory panel was also introduced to the media, namely, Madam Josette Balsa, Mr. Leung Kui Ting, Professor Jenny So, Mr. Ung Wai Meng and Mr. Kan Tai Keung.
In addition to the advisory panel, PCF is pleased to have the support from members of Hong Kong art fraternity, forming the adjudicating panel. They are: Prof. Kurt Chan, Mr. Eddie Lui, Mr. Danny Lee Chin Fai, Mr. Law Hon Wah, Mr. Peter Lau, Mr. Louis Yu and Mr. Freeman Lau.
Permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao are welcome to join the Art Competition on individual or group base. Entrants can each submit one entry only. Winner, first runner-up, second runner-up and finalists would be selected. List of the adjudicating panel and prize details will be announced later. Closing date for entry submission is on 28 December 2006. Winning and finalists' works will be exhibited in several venues in Hong Kong from March to September 2007. Entry forms are now available at the PCF website www.pcf.org.hk and further details of the Art Competition will be announced at the website soon.
